If somebody from 1973 looked at what was on a dormitory message board in 1993, the slang would have changed a little bit since the era of "Love Story," but they would understand what was on that message board. Take that person from 1993 — not that long ago, this is "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" — those people. Take those people and they read a very typical text written by a 20-year-old today. Often they would have no idea what half of it meant because a whole new language has developed among our young people doing something as mundane as what it looks like to us when they're batting around on their little devices.

Rhpositive.net is the personal blog of Roland Hochstrasser. The contents presented on these pages are the result of work carried out in various fields, with a particular interest in cultural policies, territory, tourism, and communication strategies. The purpose is certainly not to provide definitive answers, on the contrary: the texts propose reflections that aim to stimulate questions for further developments. Hence the name and slogan, which emphasize the importance of having constructive and positive perspectives.

1. Tourism development shall be based on criteria of sustainability, which means that it must be ecologically bearable in the long term, as well as economically viable, and ethically and socially equitable for local communities.
Sustainable development is a guided process which envisages global management of resources so as to ensure their viability, thus enabling our natural and cultural capital, including protected areas, to be preserved. As a powerful instrument of development, tourism can and should participate actively in the sustainable development strategy. A requirement of sound management of tourism is that the sustainability of the resources on which it depends must be guaranteed.

I would love to tell you that nine times out of 10, science wins, saves the day, it's all explained. That's not true. The truth is, 10 times out of 10, science wins, it saves the day.
